The Carolina Panthers went to New England on a mission to beat the reigning Super Bowl champions and they accomplished their goal! It was a long game going back and forth with scoring but the Panthers managed to win in Boston 33-30. Graham Gano made the 48 yard game winning field goal as time expired in the fourth quarter. That was a great redemption moment for Gano because he missed a field goal attempt earlier in the game. The Panthers went off of the Patriots field cheering with excitement knowing that they were coming home 3-1!

That was the first time we saw the Panthers offense actually improve their passing game because Newton did a fantastic job with completing his throws. He threw only one interception and completed 22 of 29 passes for 316 yards. We saw Cam look better than his 2015 MVP season and if he continues to play like that for the rest of the season then Carolina might as well make it to Minnesota in February! One of the offensive stars of the game was wide receiver Devin Funchess. Funchess had an amazing game as he received for 70 yards and scored 2 touchdowns! Funchess never had a had 2 touchdowns in a NFL game before! It was the best game this season for Funchess and he made the offense gain its momentum when it needed to.

Fozzy Whittaker was one of the players that had a great game as well. He had 3 receptions for 34 yards and made one beautiful touchdown run for 28 yards thanks to a quick pass from Newton. Whittaker has a great burst of speed when he runs which made him zoom past the Patriots defense for the easy touchdown. The Panthers should be grateful for players like Fozzy because he is always there if you need a player to move the chains! Christian McCaffrey was a great option for some of Newton’s quick receptions as he had 4 receptions for 16 yards. Even though Christian did not get that many yards in a game he was still very important to Cam and the offense. If a defender want’s to get McCaffrey down he will need to make sure to not get tripped up.

The Panthers defense sacked Brady a couple of times but did not cause any turnovers. In the future I expect the Panthers veteran defense to force some more fumbles and interceptions. The defense is so great it is really upsetting that they don’t get enough turnovers which convert to easy points. This weekend the Panthers will travel to Detroit and take on the 3-1 Lions. It will be an interesting matchup to watch because both teams have great offenses! The Carolina Panthers are a fun team to watch and I expect a fantastic show from them. Keep Pounding!!!
