The Philadelphia Eagles are hot right now. The Thursday, Oct. 12 2017 win over the Carolina Panthers bumped the Eagles up to 5-1. Now, a former Dallas Cowboys player, DeMarcus Ware, calls the Eagles the “scariest team” in the NFC.

As Ware commented during a discussion on NFL Players Only, “Where I’m coming from is, how can you talk about the Rodgers, and yet he has a great offense, but defense wins championships. That’s why I say Philly. If they can play consistently like they played on last night, Thursday night game, they can win games because something has to give.”

That’s high praise from the seasoned defensive End who solidified himself as a league great. Indeed, the Eagles seem unstoppable. What’s more, Philly isn’t necessarily dominating each game. Rather, often the Eagles’ don’t start out well. Against the Panthers on Oct. 12, 2017, quarterback Carson Wentz got off to a rough start.

But, as Ware explores, the Eagles have something to give. He explained, “When the Patriots win their championships, when I won the Super Bowl, something has to give. You have a good offense and then the defense is mediocre. You can’t have a not so good offense. You don’t want to go into a score to score battle. Or you have a great defense like I was in, where we played in the Super Bowl, and we won.”

So how far can the Eagles go this year? At this rate, the Eagles are poised to make the playoffs, and (knock on wood), mount a playoff run. That’s better than most fans predicted for the season. Well done Philly, and fly Eagles fly.
