LaMarcus Joyner missed the last three games but came back with a bang. Joyner recorded a pick with three tackles and a pass defended. Joyner will only strengthen the defense as two young safeties have emerged since he was gone. John Johnson, Cody Davis, and Lamarcus Joyner makes one hell of a safety group.
Rodger Saffold has been playing above and beyond this season. His blocking is a key success to the Rams winning. Todd Gurley and Jared Goff’s jobs got way easier with the way he is playing up front. Saffold received another high grade from Pro Football Focus, they gave him an 87.5 for yet another outstanding game.
Mark Barron might not make every tackle but he for sure makes up for it with his great pass defense. Drafted out of college in the first round as a safety then switched to linebacker, Barron still has the ability to cover. Barron only had one tackle but he also had a pick to go along with a pass defense with excellent pass defense all day.
Robert Quinn needs to step up. In Quinn’s first year as a stand up edge, he has struggled immensely. He has been getting some pressures but he has to finish consistently. There are no excuses for him, he has a 19 sack season to his name.
Gerald Everett looks like he is playing second fiddle to Tyler Higbee now. After a strong start to his career, Everett has been quite quiet the last five weeks. He only has 16 yards on three receptions compared to his 134 yards in his first two games. Everett didn’t see a single target on Sunday. He wasn’t drafted in the second round to not produce.
Rams fans will have to bask in their own sorrow, there is no game to watch this week. Bye weeks are always boring and makes any fan feel lost on Sunday. At least there will be time to get stuff done now. Of course, there is always the Dodgers to watch in the world series.
