Waiver Pick Ups – Week 9

Jimmy Garappolo (SF) – Jimm G is worth a pick up in all 2 QB leagues based on upside. SF has not had a competent QB all season so it will be interesting to see how Kyle Shanahan is able to use a good young QB like Garoppolo.

Running Backs

Rex Burkhead (NE) – 7 catches in week 8 puts Burkhead on the map moving forward as a potential fantasy option moving forward. NE is on BYE in week 9 so Burkhead will likely come cheap off the waiver. NE’s backfield is tough to predict on a week to week basis but if Sunday is a sign of things to come, it is better to be too early than too late on picking up Burkhead.

Alex Collins (Bal) – leads all RB’s in the NFL in YPC and turned in another big game on Thursday Night. Moving forward, it is tough to imagine Collins not seeing a bigger workload given how productive he has been with the touches he has received. He doesn’t catch the ball and has yet to get into the end zone, but his raw talent and consistent carries gives him a solid floor with upside if he can find a way to get into the end zone.

Wide Receivers

JuJu Smith-Schuster (Pit) – Monster game on Sunday Night for the rookie out of USC with 7 catches for 173 yards and 1 TD on 10 total targets. With Martavius Bryant now out of the picture, the rookie seems poised for a lot of targets moving forward and the Steelers player 4 out of there next 6 games at home. If you have been smart enough to save up your FAAB budget, now is the time to cash it in.

Paul Richardson (Sea) – 2 TD’s in week 8 for Richardson now gives him 5 TD’s on the season. He has been the big play threat for one of the streakiest offenses in all of football so he is worth a pick up in all formats.

Josh Doctson (Wash)  & Corey Davis (Ten) – Both are young receivers who have underachieved and/or not been healthy this year. If you have a good record and can afford to stash a player with upside for the playoffs, these are both great options. It will be a roll of the dice but the upside is there given there size and raw talent.

Tight Ends

Vernon Davis (Wash) – Jordan Reed is injured again, that is the only reason he is on this list.

Streaming Defense

LA Rams – It is hard not to like a defense that is red hot, coming off a BYE and is playing an Eli Manning led offense with all his receivers injured.
