Quarterbacks

Jared Goff: LAR @ NYG 42 – Start
Matt Ryan: ATL @ CAR 42 – Sit

Goff this season has had four games averaging 19.45 fantasy points and three games where he has averaged 10.48 fantasy points. The lower average games were all poor matchups, but this week Goff has a favorable matchup against the Giants defense that has allowed the seventh-most fantasy points to the quarterback position in 2017. He has a nice floor this week. In comparison Matt Ryan faces the Carolina Panthers who have allowed the fifth fewest fantasy points to the QB position this season. Ryan is the 21st ranked quarterback this season, and with a division matchup he needs to be benched.

Running Backs

Matt Breida: SF vs ARI 39 – Start
Rob Kelley: WAS @ SEA 45 – Sit

Breida is coming off his best game as a pro, scoring his first NFL touchdown pass on a shovel pass from QB C.J. Beathard. Things look like they work in Breida’s favor against the Cardinals who have allowed the eighth most fantasy points to the RB position over the last four weeks. Beathard does not push the ball down the field, so dump off passes to both Carlos Hyde and Matt Breida will be apparent. Additionally, with Pierre Garcon now on injured reserve it only make sense that the 49ers will try to get their talented rookie running back more involved. Flipping to the Rob Kelley side, the Redskins have struggled to run the ball averaging only 72.7 rushing yards per game over their last three games. It does not look to improve against the Seahawks who have allowed the sixth fewest points to the RB position in 2017. This game seems to have a script more towards the Redskins falling behind which means Chris Thompson will most likely see the most production. Kelley is also questionable heading into Sunday.

Wide Receivers

Sammy Watkins: LAR @ NYG 42 – Start
Will Fuller V: HOU vs IND 45.5 – Sit

This is the week the Will Fuller touchdown streak ends. Even against the Colts poor defense, it is hard to remain optimistic with Tom Savage under center for the Texans. Fuller has caught seven touchdowns on 11 receptions making him a prime candidate for regression the rest of the season. Watkins on the other hand, is a high upside play against the Giants who have allowed the second most fantasy points to the wide receiver positon over the last two weeks. Janoris Jenkins will also be missing the game, so if you have held onto Watkins this long, you need to start him in this matchup. If he cannot get it done, it may be time to move on.

Tight Ends

Vernon Davis: WAS @ SEA 45 – Start
Jason Witten: DAL vs KC 53 – Sit

Both of these guys are start-able this week, but I lean Davis due to volume potential.  Jordan Reed is likely to miss time, so Davis will be on the field more. Witten on the other hand will be limited because the Cowboys are likely to run Elliot as much as they can with his suspension looming in the future. The matchups are very similar with both defense being middle of the pack against tight ends, but Davis has been more consistent this season despite splitting time with Reed. Davis has had more than 50 receiving yards in four of his last five games and Witten has only had two of his last five games with more than 50 yards receiving.
