Nine Cheap Buys in DraftKings for Week 12
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope everybody enjoyed their holiday with some family, food, and of course football. Maybe you played a DraftKings contest on Turkey Day and did not do to hot so I Andrew Erickson, am back again helping you find those value players to finish setting your lineups for the remaining Week 12 games. This article lists nine great players that are on the cheap this week in DraftKings for Week 12.
QB Blake Bortles: JAX @ ARI
Our first cheap QB of the week, Bortles is coming off a 9.6 fantasy performance against the Cleveland Browns. However, last week the weather did play a significant role in his performance. This is something Bortles will not have to deal with this week in Arizona. The Cardinals have been bad in terms of pass defense, allowing the sixth most fantasy points to the QB position this season and they even made Tom Savage look good last week. Before last weeks game Bortles had averaged 18.3 fantasy points over his last three games. Bortles’ name alone will have him at low ownership, so he is a great tournament play in DraftKings. His receivers are also very cheap to stack with. The game script also leans in favor of Bortles as well. The Arizona run defense is very good, so it would only make sense that Jacksonville attack them though the air.
QB Jacoby Brissett: IND vs TEN
The second cheap QB of the week, Brissett faces off against the Titans who have allowed the seventh most fantasy points to the QB position over the last four weeks. Brissett has been an excellent QB this season with his high floor. In his last eight games, five of them he has at least scored 16 fantasy points. That includes the last game versus Pittsburgh where he had to leave early, but still finished with 16.58 fantasy points. He can be trusted this week with the favorable matchup and is great stack with T.Y. Hilton.
RB J.D. McKissic: SEA @ SF
The 49ers cannot stop the run. They have allowed the most fantasy points to the RB position. The 49ers are also not great against pass-catching backs either, as they have allowed the most receiving yards, fifth most targets, ninth most receptions, and fifth most receiving TDs to the RB. Those numbers predict McKissic should produce as the lead back for Seattle. At the price of $3,700 McKissic is great cheap value player that can be a great addition to any lineup.
RB Devontae Booker: DEN @ OAK
The winds of change are apparent in the Denver Broncos’ backfield. Booker out snapped C.J. Anderson by 18 snaps last week, and expect Booker to continue to get more volume. As the pass-catching back primarily he has great value against the Oakland Raiders in Week 12. Over the last four weeks, the Raiders have allowed the second most receptions, fourth most targets, and second most receiving TDs to the RB position. They have also allowed the sixth most fantasy points overall to RBs in 2017.
WR Marquise Goodwin: SF vs SEA
With all the injuries in the Seattle secondary, I think Goodwin is good for at least one or two deep passes. Seattle has allowed the fourth most fantasy points to the WR position over the last four weeks. He is definitely a high upside-low floor play, but with him as the projected target share leader, he should be able to produce. He is coming off a bye week, so he will definitely have a low ownership percentage.
WR Zay Jones: BUF @ KC
Kansas City has allowed the most fantasy points to the WR position this season, and Jones has been heating up the past few weeks for the Bills. After a very difficult start Jones has averaged over 13 fantasy points per game over his last two games. With Kelvin Benjamin ruled out and other Bills wide receivers coming in questionable, Tyrod Taylor may not have any other option than forcing it to Jones.
WR Keelan Cole $3,400: JAX @ ARI
WR Dede Westbrook $3,600: JAX @ ARI
Trust me on this one. The Arizona Cardinals cannot contain the number two receivers on the teams they face. Patrick Peterson is going to lock down Marqise Lee, so I really Cole and Westbrook in this spot. Both have big-play ability and should see plenty of work. The Cardinals just last week gave up six receptions for 63 yards to Bruce Ellington, so have confidence in these lesser known Jacksonville receivers. Activate that Blake Bortles-Keelan Cole-Dede Westbrook mega stack!
Tyler Higbee: NO @ LA
While the Woods are away the Higbee will play. Excuse my poor rhyming skills, but I do think that Higbee is a much overlooked asset on the Rams offense with Robert Woods out. Many people are being attracted to Sammy Watkins and Cooper Kupp, but do not forget about Tyler Higbee! The Saints over the last two weeks have allowed the third most fantasy points to the TE position. I fully expect Higbee to be more a threat in the passing game in Week 12 and to be a factor in the red zone. The Saints in 2017 have allowed the fourth most receiving TDs and the eighth most red zone targets to the TE.
