Brandon Boykin of the Philadelphia Eagles is quickly becoming one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL. While the rest of the league’s corners talk trash on Twitter and jaw about who is the greatest, Boykin is working to surpass all of them.

He made a significant leap between his first and second seasons with the Eagles:

As you can see Boykin totaled six interceptions last season. Only Richard Sherman of the Seahawks had more, and much like Sherman, Boykin got it done in the clutch. His pick of Kyle Orton Week 17 slammed the door on the NFC East title, leaving no room for doubt as to which team was the class of the division.

Now he’s taking his game to the next level. Yesterday at training camp Boykin had the play of the day when he made a hotly contest interception in the end zone. Jimmy Kemspi of Philly.com tells the story:

“Boykin won a contested battle with Josh Huff in the back corner of the end zone for an interception. Boykin’s helmet was ripped off on the play, and he emphatically chucked the ball in a fired-up celebration…”

He even was able to slow the meteoric rise of rookie standout wide receiver Jordan Matthews, who has been torching everybody at Eagles camp of late:

“Matthews won some, and Boykin won some, and the competition between those two was very fun to watch. But it was clear that the competition level that Matthews saw from Boykin today was nothing like what he saw from the two’s and three’s during the rest of camp.”

The newly acquired Malcolm Jenkins is the leader of the Eagles secondary, but there’s no doubt who the biggest weapon is. I can go on all day about the things that Boykin is doing, but reading just can’t compare to seeing.

Our own Larry Mitros put together this all-22 highlight reel of Boykin’s best plays of 2013. Enjoy:
