Not all first round draft picks pan out in the NFL, but if his first two preseason games are any indication, Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles is going to be just fine.
First he had a solid outing against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, completing seven of 11 passes for 117 yards and a passer rating just under 100.
Then on Thursday night he followed it up with a great showing against the Chicago Bears, completing 11 of 17 passes for 160 yards. In both games he was very efficient and looked like he was a veteran quarterback with a lot of experience under his belt instead of a rookie.

Thus far Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley has been adamant that Chad Henne will be the team’s starter this season, but if Bortles continues to impress like this, he’ll be hard pressed to keep him off the field.
