In recent weeks, as the NFL Draft approaches, there has been a lot of conversation about Johnny Manziel and the so-called “baggage” that he brings with him. While a great player on the field, the former Heisman Trophy winner is far from stellar off the gridiron, as he’s in the center of one controversy after another.

That’s led many to suggest that his stock is going to drop come May 8, as some teams won’t want to be a part of the three-ring circus that surrounds the quarterback. It’s a similar argument that is used to explain why Tim Tebow is no longer employed by an NFL team.

At a certain point, a player isn’t worth the headaches that accompany them, no matter what they bring to the table from a football standpoint. That may not be fair, but it’s reality.

Personally, the criticism of Johnny Football seems unfair. Most of his transgressions are nothing more than young guy having fun; that’s livable.

But there are plenty of players in the NFL who do deserve to be labeled as not worth the trouble. They abound, from coast to coast and roster to roster.
